Roots of Empathy - Post family visit

15th Nov 2017

Darren joined Mrs Moore's P3 and P4 class on Tuesday morning for our post family visit. We talked about our observations of baby Ella during her last visit and Darren read us a story called, Jamaica Tag Along. In the story we heard about Jamaica and her brother. We learnt that sometimes Jamaica got in her brother's way and he didn't like her following him and wanting to play in his games all the time. We were able to talk about times when we feel left out or pushed out of games at home or in school. Everyone had super ideas for ways that we can help ourselves when we are in situations like Jamaica in the story. We thought about what we can do to help other people who might feel left out or alone in school. We listened really well to the story and were able to write about times when we have felt sad or left out. Watch the school notice boards in the corridor outside our classroom to see some of our written work. We are now taking it in turns to bring 'Charlie' home with us and are creating our own Roots of Empathy books to share with our friends and family when it is our turn to bring the Roots of Empathy baby doll home. We are all feeling really excited about this.
